A study of one of Britain's most striking moths, set among the wildflowers, berries and hardy plants of the heathland it calls home.
Twelve numbered illustrations surround it — ferns, bilberries, gorse, hawthorn and bramble — alongside male and female Emperor moths with their unmistakable eyespot wings, and a caterpillar tucked into a stand of bell heather. Painted in Sophie's fine gouache style and labelled below, the print has the character of a page lifted from an old field guide.
Printed in the UK on a heavyweight fine art paper made from 34% hemp, 33% recycled paper and 33% alpha cellulose — acid-free and OBA-free, so the print stays true to colour and won't yellow over time.
