Bring a touch of the wild British countryside to your kitchen with this beautifully illustrated Emperor Moth tea towel, inspired by the wildflowers, berries and hardy plants of Britain's heathlands and moorlands.
At the heart of the design is one of Britain's most distinctive moths — the Emperor. Surrounding it is a natural-history study featuring some of the plants and food sources found within its habitat.
The design features 12 numbered illustrations, from delicate ferns and ripening bilberries, to resilient gorse, hawthorn blossom and flowering bramble. At the centre are male and female Emperor moths, with their distinctive eyespot wings, alongside an Emperor moth caterpillar nestled amongst the bell heather. Each has been painted in Sophie's detailed gouche style and labelled beneath, giving the tea towel the feel of a vintage field guide brought to life.
Printed on high quality organic cotton panama, meaning it is both sustainable and durable for everyday kitchen use. Sewn-in is a handy corner loop for hanging when not in use. Choose from deep navy or warm, natural cream, both designed to complement the rich colours of the original illustrations.
Sophie's tea towels are designed in Devon and manufactured here, in the UK. They celebrate the often-overlooked beauty of Britain's wild places and the plants and creatures that call them home.
A thoughtful gift for nature lovers, moth and butterfly enthusiasts, gardeners, or anyone who appreciates the quiet beauty of the British countryside.
